Olbia
Chief city of the Province of Olbia-Tempio, Olbia is one of the island’s most flourishing centres and has a port and airport linking it to the rest of Europe. The ancient capital of the ‘Giudicato’ or ancient kingdom of Gallura, Olbia is a gateway to some of the best-known tourist destinations in northern Sardinia, including the charming resort of Porto Rotondo and nearby Costa Smeralda, the Archipelago of La Maddalena with its beautiful small islands to be discovered by boat, and Santa Teresa di Gallura, on the northern tip of the island, facing the white rocky coastline of nearby Corsica.
